Antique Advertising Advertising Stoneware Blue & White Salt Glazed Brush-McCoy Wildflower Stenciled Rolling Pin J. C. MANDEL – CLEVELAND, OHIO Advertising stoneware early 1900s blue and white salt glazed rolling pin with the Wildflower pattern stenciling made by Brush-McCoy Pottery Company in Roseville, Ohio, (1911 – 1923) for J. C. Mandel from the historic Sheriff Street Market in Cleveland, Ohio. The Sheriff Street Market operated from 1891 till 1936. 3 Line Advertisement Reads: Compliments of J. C. MANDEL SHERIFF STREET MARKET. Condition: Pin has stress line cracks and hairlines as shown in pictures but feels sturdy with no signs of actually breaking. One hole appears to have a repair (pic #8). Crazing throughout the pin from age to be expected. Wooden handles have a nice patina from age and function properly. The one handle with the thread has some cracking but still screws tightly like it should. Any flaws on the stoneware such as glaze/paint skips, glaze pops, stenciling imperfections, stilt marks etc. are all natural from the making. Comes as seen/is/found and as made.
